Justice. Righteousness. Steadfast Love.

Yesterday as I sat in church, Pastor Jared Myrick introduced the scripture from which he would be speaking. It was Isaiah Chapter 46. He read the entire chapter in the King James Version. Here it is in the Berean Study Bible translation:

1Bel crouches; Nebo cowers.

Their idols weigh down beasts and cattle.

The images you carry are burdensome,

a load to the weary animal.

2The gods cower; they crouch together,

unable to relieve the burden;

but they themselves go into captivity.

3“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,

all the remnant of the house of Israel,

who have been sustained from the womb,

carried along since birth.

4Even to your old age, I will be the same,

and I will bear you up when you turn gray.

I have made you, and I will carry you;

I will sustain you and deliver you.

5To whom will you liken Me or count Me equal?

To whom will you compare Me, that we should be alike?

6They pour out their bags of gold

and weigh out silver on scales;

they hire a goldsmith to fashion it into a god,

so they can bow down and worship.

7They lift it to their shoulder

and carry it along;

they set it in its place, and there it stands,

not budging from that spot.

They cry out to it, but it does not answer;

it saves no one from his troubles.

8Remember this and be brave;

take it to heart, you transgressors!

9Remember what happened long ago,

for I am God, and there is no other;

I am God, and there is none like Me.

10I declare the end from the beginning,

and ancient times from what is still to come.

I say, ‘My purpose will stand,

and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.’

11I summon a bird of prey from the east,

a man for My purpose from a far-off land.

Truly I have spoken,

and truly I will bring it to pass.

I have planned it,

and I will surely do it.

12Listen to Me, you stubborn people,

far removed from righteousness:

13I am bringing My righteousness near;

it is not far away, and My salvation will not be delayed.

I will grant salvation to Zion

and adorn Israel with My splendor.

Before the pastor had gotten past the introduction to His sermon, The Lord gave me a waking vision.

I was taken into the throne room of the Most High, where He was seated, clothed in light. I couldn’t see His face due to the brightness emanating from Him.

He spoke three decrees: “Justice”, “Righteousness”, “Steadfast Love”.

These four words with their eight syllables came out of His mouth in the form of visible fire. The fire formed a ring that rippled from Him. His throne became the epicenter of a shock wave of fire that struck the earth and radiated outward until it engulfed the entire planet.

In front of the spreading ring of fire, the earth bristled with idols, thrusting their stone heads obscenely toward the heavens in mockery of He who sat upon the throne. However, as the wave of fire hit them, each idol was instantly beheaded. The broken head and what was left of the rest of the idol crumbled in rubble to the ground.

I continued to watch as the rubble from each of the former idols began to move, then, rolling together as if by some magnetic attraction. Without assistance by man’s hand, the piles of rubble all across the earth began to reform themselves in each location until, in the place where each idol had formerly stood, now rested a replica of the Ark of the Covenant, topped by golden cherubim.

Then light began to spread outward from each Ark, forming innumerable rings of light in the darkness. These circles of light all across the face of the earth continued to spread until they began to intersect and overlap each other, pushing the darkness into ever diminishing corridors between the overtaking circles of light.

Then, out of the dark areas, I suddenly saw thousands of people come streaming into the light. They were running, thronging toward the nearest Ark.

As soon as all of the darkness had been replaced with light, I watched as each of the many individual Arks of Covenant began to moved together, like the bits of rubble had done previously. From all quarters of the earth, the Arks coalesced into a single large Ark of Covenant.

That large Ark slowly began to rise above the surface of the earth until it hovered in the air where all the earth could see it. The golden cherubim detached from the ark and rose to hover suspended in the air above that great Ark.

Then in the air between the cherubim, a golden crown appeared, glistening, hovering.

Suddenly the Lion of the Tribe of Judah was there, too, standing on the mercy seat between the cherubim, where the Shekhinah glory of God…His presence…dwelt. The Lion ascended upward toward the golden crown and into it, until the crown rested upon His head.

Then the crowned lion was transformed into Jesus Christ, the righteous son of man. Light flowed from Him as He extended his hands in blessing to the earth.

There my vision ended.

As Pastor Myrick preached, he discussed three points taken from his text in Isaiah 46:

  • The futility of placing our hope in dumb idols, built with our own hands. These idols turn into unbearable crushing burdens instead of delivering us from our problems. – vs. 5-7 This corresponded to the idols at the beginning of my vision.
  • The loneliness, darkness, and stress of living without God. Yet how blessed it is to trust God to bear our burdens and carry us through the darkest and most lonely hours of our life, if we let Him. – vs.3-4 This corresponded to the people streaming out of darkness to the Ark of His Covenant of mercy.
  • The hope and fulfillment found in God’s promise that He will clothe us with His glory like a bride adorned for her bridegroom. – vs. 13 This corresponds to the individual arks becoming united as one in their head and Lord as He is exalted and the whole earth being filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.

As you can see, the Holy Spirit bore double witness to the Word of God spoken through the mouth of Jared Myrick.

Blessed be the name of the Lord. Let His word be fulfilled. I stand in agreement on earth with what has been declared in Heaven.

Justice!

Righteousness!

Steadfast Love!

23 This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong man in his strength, nor the wealthy man in his riches. 24 But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth— for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD. -Jeremiah 9:24
